When to order your Cake

Bookings for all cakes are made on a first come, first served basis and as dates during October to March are generally booked out early, it is recommended that you place an order for your cake as early as possible, even 9-12 months before is not too early.

Cake and Design Influences

Things that you might like to think about for your cake would be, the number of guests, whether you will be having your cake as dessert or as an accompaniment to another dessert, the venue.  If you have a colour theme for your wedding, you might like to bring along swatches of fabric or photos that reflect the colour and style of your wedding.  Any pictures that you might have of cakes that contain design elements that you like are also helpful.

Cost of your cake

The cost of each cake is determined by the several aspects, these being the number of tiers for your cake, the size of each tier and the final decoration of the cake.  Also taken into account in the decoration aspect are the type and amount of flowers for your cake, whether you want fresh or sugar flowers.

After our consultation with you we will be able to provide you with a quote that will take into account the requirements for your cake.

Payment

To secure your booking, a 25% deposit will be required once you have accepted our quote and we have confirmed your order.  The final balance of payment is due four weeks before completion of the cake.

For any cake orders that we accept with less than four week’s notice, the full payment is required on confirmation of your order.

Delivery

So that you don’t have to worry about your cake once it’s been ordered, part of our service is to deliver and set-up your cake at any venue in Hobart and the greater area.  So that we can complete the delivery we will need to liaise with your venue to schedule a time to make the delivery and to ensure that the cake stand / cake table are available at the time of delivery. 

For deliveries outside of the greater Hobart area, we can still deliver your cake to the venue for you for a small delivery fee. We can discuss any delivery charges with you at our consultation and it will be taken into account in your quote. 

Cancellations

If after accepting our quote and paying your deposit, you don’t wish to proceed with your order, and you provide us with more than four weeks’ notice, we will provide a refund of your initial deposit, less an administration fee of $35 and less the cost of any items that may have been purchased for your cake. 

If cancellation is less than four weeks prior to your event and we are able to secure a booking for your date, we will refund you the initial deposit, less an administration charge of $35 and less the cost of any items purchased for your cake. 

Should we not be able to secure a booking for your date, we reserve the right to withhold 100% of your initial payment.  We will use all endeavors to ensure a booking is found but this cannot be guaranteed.
